Founded in Richmond, Virginia, in 2010, HUMUNGUS has found their place somewhere between old school thrash and traditional heavy metal. While being compared to such bands as EXODUS, VIO-LENCE, ANTHRAX, MEGADETH, WHIPLASH, etc., HUMUNGUS has created a sound all their own.
In 2011 they dropped their first 2 song demo, shortly followed by a 5 song EP on the popular local label Forcefield Records. Since then, they have toured up and down the east coast as well as cross country and played several major festivals. In 2012, the band released a 7” EP, featuring the two songs “Drinkin a Beer” and “Shark Castle”. The first full-length album entitled “War Band”was released in 2015, and was later re-released on KILLER METAL RECORDS in 2018.
The band has filmed two official music videos, for the songs “Drinkin ‘a beer” and “War band”. The second full-length album is set to be released in the summer of 2019, followed by more touring.
